With Whitney Lake as the background, the residents of Whitney Lake community enjoyed another fine day for their Annual Harvest Festival on the afternoon of Saturday, October 13, 2018.
Take a look at our beautiful lake:
West – North View
North East View – We still have more house construction going on.
East South View – I live at the last building on the East side directly across.
The island in the middle of the lake.
We had a Chili cook-off and for $5, anyone could have a 3oz. taste of all the nine entries.
Entrants were getting ready with their chilis.
For the attendees, first you had to buy your ticket to sample the food. Or you bought a raffle for the 50-50. If you were generous, you could donate to our Pig.
The Hay Ride
Jump castle for the kids.
Hot dogs, bratwurst Anyone?
Join in the crowd . . .
We had music too.
Love the pergola behind the firepit.
The Chili Cook-Off was a big hit.
We also had corn hole game and the coin search on the hay which I missed entirely. Sorry about that. I was too busy sampling the chilis. You can’t blame me for that.

I took these sunset photos yesterday and today in front of my townhouse. As you can see Florence missed us. We are extremely lucky. We did not get a drop of rain. Street scene was taken from the front porch. Those with the pergola on the left were taken from the second floor closet window. My terrace was boarded so I could not go out but my husband’s closet has a small window and it was not boarded. Those with unobstructed view were taken from the third floor window. Although the pictures do not do justice to the wonderful sunset, you can still see the changes by the minutes.
This was taken on Thursday, 9-13-18 at 7:04 PM. Florence was to make a landfall that night. Not a drop of rain.
Two minutes later, the ground was still dry. Thursday, 9-13-18 at 7:06 PM.
The following photos were taken this…
